We are looking to recruit for our brand Systron Donner Inertial, specialist in high performance precision quartz MEMS and inertial sensing products and systems.

Job Summary

The Staff Electrical Engineer is located in Concord, CA.  This exempt role reports to the Director of Engineering and is part of the Systron Donner Inertial sensors development team responsible for new MEMS inertial sensors from concept to production. The successful candidate MUST be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident for this role. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new or advance the state of the art in MEMS inertial sensors through MEMS/circuit co-design, including noise analysis, optimization, design for test and manufacturability.
  • Create, model and implement analog /mixed signal circuits and subsystems including appropriate parametric tolerance analysis
  • Maintain state of the art CAD flow, including capture, simulation, layout and verification of PCB based designs
  • Perform complex activities related to the validation, testing, and characterization of MEMS vibrating Quartz gyro and accelerometer inertial sensors
  • Work with a cross functional team to develop and optimize current and next generation inertial measurement units and system
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned Will set new standards for high performance, rugged environment MEMS inertial sensors.
  • Develop new and industry-leading inertial sensors for a variety of defense and industrial markets.
  • This role is primary to the specification, architecture definition and implementation of complex analog/mixed signal sensor front-end circuits and MEMS interface. 

 

Experience

  • 7 or more years experience Analog/Mixed Signal front-end design experience

Education

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics

 Required Skills

  • Proficient with circuit CAD tools (capture, simulation, layout, verification) such as Mentor PADS, Cadence Orcad
  • Skilled in measurement tools and techniques for circuit, system and MEMS device characterization
  • Strong analytical background in evaluating performance tradeoffs in sensor design
  • Experience in using MATLAB or similar data and system level analysis tools

 Preferred experience 

  • MEMS/sensor readout and interface electronics
  • Inertial sensor or system design experience
  • Background in inertial sensor application engineering
  • Inertial sensor test techniques and equipment experience
  • Knowledge of MEMS sensor design requirements and optimization
  • Understanding of inertial sensors environmental test requirements
